A Lebanon County couple is accused of stealing more than $20,000 in electronics, jewelry and firearms in four residential burglaries earlier this month.
Jeremy Scott Peiffer, 27, and Dana Nicole Tucker, 27, committed the burglaries in a 48-hour period between Jan. 6 and 8 in Jackson and Bethel townships, state police said in charging documents.
Peiffer told police in an interview with police that both he and his girlfriend have a drug habit and are heroin users, police said in charging documents. He also admitted to his role in the burglaries and said Tucker stayed in a getaway car to serve as a lookout, police said.
The homes targeted in the burglaries were ransacked and the items stolen included computers, digital cameras, an iPhone, hunting knives and an assortment of guns and ammunition.
Charging documents in the case show that police were led to Peiffer and Tucker by several pieces of evidence.
One burglary victim reported she interrupted a man matching Peiffer’s description as he was breaking into her home. The woman took down the license plate number of a borrowed Jeep Cherokee Peiffer and Tucker used as a getaway car, police said.
Another burglary victim tracked seven pieces of her stolen jewelry to a Lebanon jewelry store, police said. She later contacted state police, who learned Tucker had sold the items to the store because she was required to leave a copy of her driver’s license during the sale.
Peiffer also dropped his wallet outside a Jackson Township home where the couple briefly waited in the driveway before leaving. The wallet contained Peiffer’s social security card, birth certificate and a business card with a probation officer’s information on it, according to police.
Peiffer and Tucker are both facing several felony charges, including first-degree burglary and first-degree conspiracy to commit burglary. Other charges include theft and criminal mischief.
Tucker is being held in Lebanon County Prison in lieu of $125,000 bail, according to court records. Peiffer is being held in the same prison on a parole violation, according to a Lebanon County Prison official.
